According to the British government, as a NATO member, the United Kingdom will continue supporting Kiev. Downing Street said that Johnson has named his international affairs adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser David Quarrey as the UK's new permanent representative to NATO.
The Times said on Monday that Scholz is expected to meet with Johnson in London on Friday and that the prime minister is expected to urge the German chancellor to boost anti-Russia sanctions and to intensify diplomatic, economic, and military pressure on Russia.
"Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on 4 April 2022 in connection with the provocation of the Ukrainian military and radicals in the town of Bucha. The essence of another crime of the Kiev regime is the disruption of peace talks and escalation of violence", Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
"In light of the blatant provocation by Ukrainian radicals in Bucha, Russia has demanded a UN Security Council meeting be convened on Monday afternoon, April 4", Polyansky said on Telegram.
Moscow will expose "the Ukrainian instigators and their Western patrons", he added.
"Our mine squadron command and our SAS teams, the elite unit of our naval forces, are taking every precaution against the mine threat that may occur in our seas… Mines are destroyed with great caution after they are detected and analysed", the ministry said on social media.
"Gas supplies cannot be stopped. That's why I say, although this may be too pragmatic for some. If there is a condition to pay [for Russian gas] in rubles, then we'll pay in rubles", Economy Minister Richard Sulik said on TV.
"I hope that painstaking efforts taken during the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations will allow us to sign a document that will serve as an important step toward normalising the situation", Dmitry Peskov told a Rossiya 1 show.
"The events in Ukraine will make us all poorer, for example, because we have to pay more for energy imports. Even the state will not be able to stop this decline in prosperity. But you can mitigate the worst shocks, that's what we do", Lindner said in an interview with Bild.
"In the long term, new foundations for well-being need to be laid", Lindner added.
"Gazprom is supplying Russian gas for transit through Ukraine as usual, based on requests from European consumers. That is 108.4 million cubic metres delivered on 3 April", a statement read.
