MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UN Security Council on Wednesday is set to hold an emergency meeting on the humanitarian situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo, at France’s request.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault called Tuesday on the UNSC to convene an emergency meeting on the issue in order to resolve the "humanitarian catastrophe" in Aleppo.
Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said the meeting should not be one-sided and should include discussions of all aspects of the Syrian crisis, including the political aspect and the fight against terrorism.
