WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Although Republican and Republican leaning voters say they want their party’s frontrunner Donald Trump to win the nomination, a growing number of respondents view the real estate tycoon unfavorably overall, a new poll revealed on Tuesday.
According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll, some 34 percent of registered Republican voters said they favored Trump, while 25 percent preferred Texas Senator Ted Cruz, followed by another 18 percent for Florida Senator Marco Rubio and 13 percent for Ohio Governor John Kasich.
The poll also found that since November, Trump’s overall favorability rating is down by 17 points after receiving a high of 69 percent four months ago.
Republican voters said they favored Cruz and Rubio when it came to the personality traits such as understanding problems, having the right personality and experience for a US president, as well as being honest and trustworthy.
The results of the poll come as Trump has won a majority of the US primaries. On Tuesday, four more states will hold primaries – Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan and Mississippi.
