Sierra Leone authorities imposed quarantine in a fishing district in the capital city of Freetown in response to new cases of Ebola, media report.
The quarantine went into effect on Friday after five Ebola cases were confirmed in tests, according to OB Sisay, director of the Situation Room at the National Ebola Response Center.
A control center has been opened in the district and contract tracing and surveillance officers have been deployed.
According to the World Health Organization, Sierra Leone has approximately 11,000 confirmed, probable and suspected cases of the deadly virus during the worst Ebola outbreak in history, the most of any country.
